The History of Reiki
This is a brief knowledge of how it came about. It starts with Dr. Mikao Usui was asked by some pupils how did Jesus heal, Dr. Usui could not answer this question and he knew he needed to find how miracle of jesus healings worked and how he instructed his apostles to also heal. He went on many travels to study religion and teachings, after he had learnt many teachings and found answers he still did not know how to activate the energy. He then one day decided to fast and meditate for 21 days, he chose to go to Mount Kyto. As he would be unaware of time, he collected 21 stones which he used for each day. on his last day he prayed for an answer to come. At this moment he saw a light coming towards him and truck him in the 3rd eye, 6th chakra centre of forehead. at this time he also saw millions of rainbow coloured bubbles and in this he saw the reiki symbols. As he saw the symbols he was given information about each once and its use in activating the healing energy. Reiki was then discovered.
He then started to come down the mountain and cut his toe, then he noticed that it had stopped bleeding and had healed, 1st miracle. Having fasted for the 21 days he decided to have a big breakfast even though he was advised not to, ate it without any problems 2nd miracle, The proprietor of where he had eaten had a grand-daughter who was in great pain, suffering with toothache and a swollen jaw, Dr. Usui offered to help and put his hands on both sides of her face, the pain disappeared, 3rd miracle. Later that day he help a abbot who was in great arthritic pain, again he laid hands on pain area and the pain went 4th miracle, so that’s how it all began.
What is Reiki
Reiki Reiki is pronounced 'rake-ie, it is a 200 year old healing technique based on ancient methods that harness our 'life force energy'. Reiki is a hands on healing for self and others
Reiki is a spiritual practice that supports life, its the universal life force energy, runs through all, people, trees, rocks/crystals, animals and the earth and solar system itself, for if we did not have this energy in and around us then all would cease to exist. Many do not know we have this life force energy, but it is with us every day all day of our lives. We are born with this energy, but becomes dormant so by being attuned with reiki brings it back to "life"
Mrs Takata bought to the west the hand positions consisting of 4 on the head, 4 on the front body, 4 on the back, adding knees and feet. Although Reiki goes to where is needed (intelligent healing) Reiki will consist of a body treatment, why? well for example, you have stomach pains, where does the illness come from, is it stress, its it the solar plexus with an energy block or unbalanced? so it was best to work on all areas starting at the head working down the body on the various parts covering the whole being, which then works on the physical, spiritual, emotional, mental areas of energy and then re-balances to become whole again.
It re-attunes mind, body and soul helping the body to detoxify, heal and re-balance itself, giving feelings of total calmness and contentment. Being attuned to Reiki enhances your intuition so when working on self or others, listen and feel with your energy, if you feel/sense you should be healing a certain part then go to that part.
"Trust in Reiki, trust in yourself and you will find the way that is right for you".
Reiki also knows when to stop the flow from healer to patient.
Reiki is also a good way of balancing the chakras.
Reki is about taking responsibility of yourself, it enables us to self heal by working on our selves in various hands on positions, it also helps us with clearing away old habits and attitudes
Reiki is also used for absent healing. Absent healing can be use from the second degree which works with symbols.
2nd Degree
This level is for those wishing to become a practioner and empowers the 1st degree attunement and increasing there energy. One the 2nd degree you will have one attunement. With the 2nd degree, you are taught distant healing, the use of symbols and there manatras, there are 3 altogether, you will normally do distant healing on another student. 2nd degree has many uses and the symbols can be used to empower food, help restore relationships, protect property, recharge batteries, can send healing to the world and areas that have conflict, charge crystals. The symbols are very powerful. absent healing. You will get a certificate and manual.
3rd Degree
3rd degree is for Mastership for those wishing to teach reiki, although some just do the 3rd attunement for additional healing energy. You will learn the 4th symbol. Being a master enables you to initiate others to reiki. You will be shown the procedure of the attunements as well as practising them. When undertaking the 3rd degree you are also saying that you want and will work on your spiritual development. This is also a big commitment, its about surrendering to the spirit of Reiki allowing it to guide every area of your lives and a commitment to your students.
The experience of Val receiving reiki
I started of The Reiki treatment started as absent healing. The distant healing Val said she felt much calmer and relaxed, Val had about a weeks distant healing the hands on.
Vals Words of Healing Experience
When Val had hands on, she at one time felt she was draining me, but this is not the case when you have Reiki. Following the treatment val felt a great relaxation in her stress levels which was still continuing, she also felt more calm and have not suffered from any pain anywhere since treatment which is totally unusual for her.
During another treatment Val noticed a lot of white coloured edged in gold it seemed to radiate throughout the upper body and heat as well, she felt heat in the upper body and head but a distinct change to coolness from below the thigh down to the ankle. Val drifted off into a large garden surounded by a green maze, Vale walked in the sunlight and listened to the sounds of nature, also saw when hands on head, a large white eye with a gold pupil, it stretched across both eyes.

Following her last one Val had felt very much more relaxed and have slept alot better her pain in certain areas of her body had become a lot less since treatments. Val’s mind seemed free from clutter. Bright white light - intense, mind completely empty then room full of cats - flash purple at beginning feet coolness. During one of the treatments val acutally linked with my nan for a few minutes.
